MAINE MASONIC AID FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION

Scholarship Description:
The Grand Lodge of Maine, in partnership with MES, is proud to announce a scholarship program dedicated to Maine’s life-long learners. The Maine Masonic Aid for Continuing Education offers 12 awards of up to $1,000 each, throughout Maine’s Masonic districts to adults pursuing some form of post-secondary education.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Must meet federal financial aid criteria for independent student status. To be considered an independent student, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

    • Born before January 1, 1984    or
    • Legally married    or
    • Enrolled in a graduate level or professional education program    or
    • Have legal dependents other than a spouse    or
    • Be an orphan or ward of the court (or were a ward of the court until age 18)     or
    • Be a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces

  • Express serious intent in your educational plan
  • Show exceptional financial need (you may be asked to furnish documentation of financial need)
  • Express a continuing commitment to future contribution to their community

Award Amount:
Awards of up to $1,000

Application Deadline:
All components of the application must be submitted online by April 18, 2008 with mailed components postmarked by the same date.
